UK - Birmingham, Symphony Hall
"What a wonderful, wonderful evening, sitting in the first row of the centre stalls watching my No. 1 Idol, Chris Rea. I've never been so close to him, and I thought I was going to have a heart attack when he came to the front of the stage to peer out at the audience during one of his songs. I was almost in touching distance from him. Wow! Awesome! Fantastic concert with some amazing and breathtaking slide guitar solos. Glad to see Chris interacting with his audience more. Tried to obtain one of Chris's guitar plectrums after the show that he'd tossed on the floor, but no such luck, I'm afraid. :( Went home with nothing more than some wonderful memories of two nights spent at Symphony Hall watching Chris and his band (hardly took my eyes off Chris all night). Paul Casey was good too, he's come on a lot since I last saw him and I'm getting to like him. Anyway, hope Chris does another tour, maybe in 2012?In the meantime, I'll be buying his book and his new album when they're released soon. Thank you Chris, and also the rest of the band, for making my night a memorable as well as an enjoyable one. "
"Thank You."
"Hi,Fabulous evening, great band, superb venue and great playing. Who could ask for more?H."
"Last time I saw Chris live was when he supported Lindisfarne!Whatever happened to Benny Santini?!Love your blues, looking forward to tonight.Cheers bonny lad."
"Just came back from the show. Fantastic as usual. Our 17 yr old was really impressed. Chris, you are one of those rare musicians that just gets better and better as the years pass. Tonights highlight for me "Somewhere between Highway 61 & 49." Brilliant."
"I took my son Jason to see Chris many years ago in Edinburgh for his very first concert with me, he is emigrating to Australia on 11th March but Chris won't be in Scotland until April so we are coming to Birmingham to see him 2 days before he leaves for Oz...Thats dedication!!"
"After seeing you Tuesday night at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, I will be returning again tonight, and this time, I have a seat in the centre stalls in the very first row! Don't think I can get any closer to you. :) Looking forward to seeing you for the second time and listening to all your great songs all over again. "
