End of European Tour 2010

As the dust settles from the marathon European tour Chris would like to send out a message of thanks to all of those that attended in making it really a tour to remember.  Please keep checking as a full update on all future plans will be sent out shortly.

2010 Tour Nears The End...

The Chris Rea ‘Still So Far to Go’ tour rolls into Scotland today after a string of sold out dates throughout England as the tour nears the end.  After the next three dates in Scotland and a visit to Dublin the final night see's Chris play The Waterfront in Belfast.

Chris would like to thank all that have attended to date in making each and every show so special and hopes that all those who came enjoyed it as much as he did. 

Thanks for all of your reviews and comments from each show.  These can be read in the ‘Tour’ section on this site.   He would also like to thank everyone for the messages of support that have been sent through the website.

Keep checking on the website for a full update of what is coming next after the tour and if you haven’t signed up yet for updates then do so, there will be a bulletin of forthcoming activity from Chris sent out soon.

The European Tour Rolls on...

The Chris Rea tour continues in style having taken in Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, Serbia, Romania, Poalnd, Russia & Belarus with sold out shows all along the way.  Chris would like to pass his personal appreciation and thanks on to all of those that attended, in helping make each show such a special occasion.

The tour now returns to Germany and then onto France, Belgium and Holland before hitting the UK for the final string of dates.

Chis Rea Tour Kicks Off In Style...

In -9 degree temperatures the eagerly anticipated Chris Rea 'Still So Far To Go' tour hit Germany in fine style with a sold out shows in Leipzig, Dresden & Hannover.  Chris loved every minute of it and sends his thanks to the great people of Germany thus far for making the opening of the tour so memorable and for the many encore's at each show.  Chris looks forward to seeing more faces tonight as the show rolls on to Hamburg...More updates to follow.

The Tour Starts Today..!

Chris Rea flew into Germany yesterday following final rehearsals in preparation for six weeks on the road starting tonight at Leipzig and on for a further 49 shows across cities all over Europe, culminating in a string of UK dates where the tour finally finishes in Belfast.  Chris looks forward to seeing many of you along the way and thanks you all for your messages and support.

Thanks for all of your messages and your support and I look forward to seeing you all on the road shortly with what should be a fantastic tour.  Check out the tour section to see when I will be visiting.

DRIVING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS - RELEASED TODAY

Chris Rea’s “ Driving Home For Christmas “ gets a make-over this Christmas with a new video to accompany the perennial festive favourite, which is being made available as a digital download Christmas single for the very first time in aid of housing and homelessness charity Shelter from today.

Chris Rea is donating his artist record royalties and Warner Music is donating all its net profits from each sale of the digital download - subject to a minimum donation of 25 pence per single sold.

For the first time ever the song will have an accompanying promo video featuring Mike Read, David Hamilton, Kristian Digby, Gail Porter, Kirstin O’Brien, Kenny Thomas, Andy Abrahams, Martin Shaw, Carole Decker, Matt D’Angelo, Mark Brennan, Giles Vickers and Lionel Blair.

Chris said: “I wanted to do something special this Christmas and what better way than to help keep a roof over people’s heads when they need it most – at Christmas. By teaming up with Shelter we can hopefully make a difference.”

Louise Parkes, director of fundraising at Shelter, says: “This song is a real Christmas favourite and sums up perfectly just how important home is at this time of year.”

“Yet for thousands of families across the UK, Christmas will be spent in temporary accommodation or housing that is damp, overcrowded or in disrepair. Many more face an uncertain future with the threat of repossession or eviction hanging over them.”

Chris Rea on TV & Radio - This Week

Chris will  be performing an exclusive live session on the Ken Bruce Morning Show on Radio 2 this Friday (from 09:30 October 9th).  Chris will be playing a selction of tracks from his Greatest Hits record.  After the session you will be able to watch video footage of the sessions HERE

Chris will then be appearing at lunchtime on Friday on ITV lunchtime show Loose Women to chat about the release of his new album.  It is on ITV from 12:30pm - 1:30pm.
